The Portuguese Government was represented by the Ambassador of Portugal to the United States , H.E. João de Vallera. Keynote speaker during the breakfast presentation was Prof. JoãoAssuncao, a distinguished academic who came to New York specifically for this event, to discuss the current drivers in the European Economy. Prof. Assuncao serves as an economic adviser to the Portuguese President and is a member of the Group of Social Policy Analysis (GSPA) that works for the President of the European Commission.
NYSE Euronext markets are home to 55 listed issuers from Portugal with a total global market capitalization of approximately €158 billion / $233.3 billion (as of Aug. 31, 2008).
