New Volume Record At Rofex - More Than 3,000 Million Dollars Traded In October

In October, Rofex reached its fourth consecutive monthly record with a volume of 3,034,634 dollars. As regards open interest, the historical mark was surpassed in 17 occasions throughout the month due to the strong Market’s activity, reaching its maximum of 1,314,342 open contracts during yesterday’s trading session.

In the Financial Derivatives Division (DDF), there was an increase of 5.27% from last month and up 108.4% from the volume traded in October 2006. In this division, the open interest average grew throughout the month, amply surpassing 1,000 million dollars and quadruplicating the average values as of the beginning of the year.

This monthly volume record surpassed the last mark reached on September 2007, when 2.88 million contracts were traded in Rofex.

The purpose of futures and options exchanges is to provide coverage instruments before price variations. Rofex is the only futures and options exchange in Argentina which offers the possibility of trading financial products.
