The Securities Lending Program (BTC) is a service provided by the CBLC - Brazilian Clearing and Depository Corporation - through which investors may make securities available for lending while interested parties may borrow them based on the presentation of guarantees. The CBLC acts as central counterparty in the process and guarantees the operations.
The service is accessed by an electronic system and the borrower pays a fee to the lender, which is freely negotiable between the parties, along with fees for the CBLC. All of the dividends declared by the share issuer belong to the original owner.
On CBLC's website it is also possible to consult on the Registered Loans and Open Positions for all elegible securities.
You can now find on CBLC's website statistic and historical data on the BTC. This new tool allows investors to check out information about the trading value, the number of trades, investor's participation on the BTC and other statistics.
