New Liquidity Allocation Of Oslo Børs Companies

Date 20/12/2007

Oslo Børs has reviewed the allocation of listed companies to liquidity categories based on trading in their shares over the last six months. The new allocations will come into effect from Friday 21 December 2007.

The rebalancing has caused one change in the OBX category. Aker ASA will be replaced by Aker Yards ASA.

The number of companies in the OB Match category is reduced from 144 to 140. This is a minor change, at the last review in June 2007 the OB Match category increased by 25 companies. Over the last six months the OB Standard category has increased by 4 companies to 51. The OB Primary Capital Certificates category increased by 1 company after Nøtterø Sparebank was listed in October. There are now 22 savings banks with primary capital certificates listed on Oslo Børs.

Of the 10 companies admitted to listing on Oslo Børs in the period 1 June to 30 November, 4 companies are now in the OB Match category, 1 company is in the OB Primary Capital Certificates category, while 5 companies still are in the OB New category, due to short history of listing.

The number of companies in the different Oslo Børs liquidity categories (figures for the previous period in brackets):

OBX 25 (25)
OB Match 140 (144)
OB Standard 51 (47)
OB New 6 (8)
OB Primary Capital Certificates 22 (21)

The OBX category is normally made up of the 25 most liquid shares on Oslo Børs. Shares with a minimum of 10 trades per day on average qualify for inclusion in the OB Match category. The OB Match category also includes companies that have entered into liquidity provider arrangements for their shares. As of December 21, 39 companies has such arrangements. This is an increase from 33 companies at the last review in June 2007. Shares with fewer than 10 trades per day on average are allocated to the OB Standard category. Savings banks with issues of listed primary capital certificates make up a separate category, while shares that have only a short history of listing (listed for less that two months) are included in the OB New category.
