ISO (International Organization for Standardization) will have a new Secretary-General from 1 January 2009. He is Mr. Robert Steele who was appointed by the ISO Council at its meeting in Dubai on 17 October 2008, following the 31st ISO General Assembly.
The current Secretary-General, Mr. Alan Bryden, has agreed to remain as Senior Advisor to the ISO President and to the new Secretary-General until 30 April 2009 to enable an orderly and efficient handover and transition in the best interests of ISO. Mr. Bryden will then move on to new professional challenges.
