Borsa İstanbul Private Market, working towards the mission of bringing together technological start-ups with investors, continues its efforts with a new investment.
Private cinema club Sinemia received the second round of investment through the Private Market from Aslanoba Capital and from Ali Çebi and Burak Örücü, members of İstanbul Startup Angels, which is the first angel investment network to become a member of the Private Market. The value of the company was determined as equal to 5 fold of the investment that Aslanoba made in the beginning of the year.
One more investment has been realized on Borsa İstanbul Private Market, a web-based and membership based platform that brings companies and investors together without going public. Aslanoba Capital founding partner Hasan Aslanoba and İstanbul Startup Angels members Ali Çebi and Burak Örcü invested in Sinemia, a special cinema club aimed at facilitating the lives of cinema lovers and sharing the love for cinema.
The signing ceremony of the investment by Aslanoba Capital and İstanbul Startup Angels members Ali Çebi and Burak Örcü in Sinemia was held at Borsa İstanbul on August 3, 2016. Borsa İstanbul Private Market Director Recep Bildik, Aslanoba Capital founder and Chairman Hasan Aslanoba, İstanbul Startup Angels founding partner and CEO Gülsüm Çıracı, İstanbul Startup Angels members Ali Çebi and Burak Örcü, and Sinemia founder Rıfat Oğuz participated in the ceremony.
At the ceremony, Sinemia founder Rıfat Oğuz, Aslanoba Capital, İstanbul Startup Angels members Ali Çebi and Burak Örcü thanked Borsa İstanbul Private Market. Oğuz said that with the new investment, they will enter new business fields focused on cinema and accelerate their efforts to go beyond the national borders, adding, “Thanks to the new application we will launch in August, we will be introducing numerous new features from tailored proposals to in-theatre sales, all aimed at facilitating and enhancing the cinema experience. Sinemia app will also be a social media channel special for cinema lovers”.
Thanks to the investment realized by Aslanoba Capital and İstanbul Startup Angels members Ali Çebi and Burak Örcü, the total number of investments realized through Borsa İstanbul Private Market has reached 7. Therefore, with its 355 members, the number of investments and the amount of investment through the Private Market have reached, respectively, 10 and TL 27 million during the 1.5 years since the launch of the Private Market. Sinemia had received its first seed investment from Aslonoba Capital through the Private Market earlier this year, making the latter holding 20% of the company capital.

This new investment realized through Borsa İstanbul Private Market is significant as it shows that new investments in technology start-ups continue at full speed despite the ominous events that Turkey faced merely two weeks ago.
