New Commodity ETF Launched In The XTF Segment On Xetra - EasyETF GSAL Offers Exposure In Livestock And Agriculture Deutsche Börse Is Europe’s Largest ETF Platform

Date 11/09/2006

Deutsche Börse has further expanded its XTF segment for international exchange-traded index funds (ETFs) on the electronic trading platform Xetra. With effect from Monday 11 September, a new commodity ETF issued by AXA Fund Management SA is tradable in XTF. The new index fund offers investors pure commodity exposure in an equity vehicle, rather than commodity-related equity exposure.

The EasyETF GSAL (ISIN: LU0252701189) is based on the Goldman Sachs Agriculture and Livestock Total Return Index (GSAL TR). The GSAL TR is a sub index of the GSCI (Goldman Sachs Commodity Index) series, which is designed to provide investors with a reliable and publicly available benchmark for investment performance in the commodity markets. The GSAL index assumes investment in nearby futures contracts covering livestock to 31.3 % and agriculture to 68.7 %. It incorporates the roll return without having to manage the futures roll.

A total of 147 index funds are currently listed in Deutsche Börse’s XTF segment, 70 of which were included in the segment at the beginning of 2006. Deutsche Börse’s XTF segment accounts for around 50% of the total European trading volume in exchange-traded funds. XTF also offers the most listed ETFs of all European stock exchanges, and is thus Europe’s leading marketplace for ETF trading.
