Montreal Exchange Satisfied

Senior management at the Montreal Exchange has learned about the reports from the Advisory Committee to the Québec's Deputy Premier and Minister of State for the Economy and Finance, Mr. Bernard Landry, regarding the proposed specialisation of the Canadian exchanges and says it is pleased to see that overall, the proposal has received enthusiastic support. It plans to carefully analyse each of the recommendations put forward in these reports. In the next few weeks, however, in co-operation with all Canadian Exchanges, particular attention will be paid to precisely define necessary measures to suitably meet the needs, in Montreal and in French, of all Quebec-based companies, including those that are already public or intend to go public.
