Minneapolis Grain Exchange Membership Record Rises To $180,000

Date 23/07/2007

For the second Monday in a row, the Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX or Exchange) announces a record membership sale with a membership trading today at the new record of $180,000. This follows three trades last week at the previous record of $170,000. Membership values at the MGEX have increased 247 percent since January.

“The level of interest in the MGEX is unprecedented with more memberships exchanging hands than ever before,” said Mark G. Bagan, President & CEO of the Exchange. “It is clear the positive developments in both our exchange and real estate operations are being recognized by the investment community.”

Since January 2007, 50 MGEX memberships have been sold. That surpasses sales for the same period last year by more than 10 percent and is more than triple the total number of memberships that traded in all of 2005.
