With the recent, dramatic upswings in wheat prices and the steadily rising value of membership at the Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX or Exchange), public interest in the Exchange has grown. In response, the MGEX is hosting an open house on its historic trading floor for anyone interested in learning more about membership in the Exchange, futures and options trading or leasing office space.
The event will take place on Nov. 13, 2007 from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. Mark G. Bagan, President & CEO of the MGEX, will briefly address the group around 5:30 p.m. Other members of the MGEX staff will also be available to answer questions about membership at the Exchange, MGEX contracts and leasing space in the historic Grain Exchange Building.
Individuals interested in joining the exciting, fast-growing commodities industry should stop by to learn how they can gain access to the MGEX open outcry trading environment by leasing or purchasing a seat on the Exchange. This is also a great opportunity to view the trading floor and learn about the three Grain Exchange buildings which are on the National Registry of Historic Places. Office space is currently available on the trading floor as well as in the Grain Exchange buildings.
The event is open to the public, but for security purposes advance registration is required. Contact Louis West at (612) 321-7153 or lwest@mgex.com by November 9.
