MGEX, a Designated Contract Market (DCM) and Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO), set top 10 daily records in both total volume and electronic volume on Friday. Total volume was the 7th-best ever, coming in at 20,289, while electronic volume finished the day at 18,965, which is 3rd-best on the electronic daily volume charts.
The Exchange used this pair of records to achieve a milestone, setting a new all-time monthly volume record as 223,004 contracts have now been traded during June.
Electronic volume for June now stands at 197,104 with two trade dates remaining in the month. This is the 3rd-highest electronic monthly volume of all-time and is less than 400 away from a new record, as well. Open interest following Friday’s activity was 61,557.
