MGEX, a Designated Contract Market (DCM) and Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO), has completed the best July in its history, recording new highs for the month in both total volume and electronic volume.
Total volume finished the month at 188,361, which is the 18th-best monthly total volume of all-time, and a 33 percent increase over the total volume from July 2014. Electronic volume reached the number 13 spot on the record charts, totaling 162,663 contracts traded during the month – a 35 percent increase from a year ago.
This marks the third time this year that MGEX has set a new monthly best in total volume. For the calendar year, total volume is now 1,322,051, which is three percent higher than it was at this time in 2014.
Open interest following Friday’s activity was 67,589.
