MGEX Records Highest Monthly Volume Of All-Time

MGEX, a Designated Contract Market (DCM) and Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO), reports a total volume of 259,169 from June, making it the highest volume month in the history of the Exchange, shattering the previous record of 222,737, set in February of 2011.

Electronic volume from June also set an all-time record, finishing the month at 231,289 contracts traded. The month concluded with two top 10 volume days in the final week, helping to secure the new milestone.

This is the third month this year in which MGEX has recorded a total volume of more than 215,000. Total volume for the year has now reached 1,133,690, which is on pace with last year. The Exchange ended up setting a new calendar year volume record in 2014.

Total open interest following Tuesday’s activity was 62,045.
