MGEX, a Designated Contract Market (DCM) and Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO), will host a number of upcoming Apple Juice Concentrate (AJC) webinars featuring Kevin Barley, a futures broker and past chairman of the Juice Products Association Futures Committee. The first webinar in the series will be held Tuesday, January 29 at 2 p.m. central time and the second will be held Thursday, February 28 at 2 p.m. central time.
The first webinar will discuss risk management for buyers and sellers involving the AJC futures contract. Barley will discuss the mechanics of hedging, buying the physical product and the benefits of hedging for both importers and processors. The second webinar will discuss Exchange for Physicals (EFPs). Specifically, Barley will discuss how EFPs are related to risk management, the benefits of using EFPs and how to use EFPs in conjunction with AJC cash and futures positions. Participants will be able to send questions to MGEX for additional follow-up and education.
