Metamako, a leader in low-latency, FPGA-enabled network solutions, has been named the winner of this year’s Intelligent Trading Technology Awards in the ‘Best Trading Infrastructure Monitoring Platform’ category with its powerful MetaWatch network application. The accolade cements its market-leading status and closely follows two significant strides in the company’s development: its first acquisition of US firm xCelor’s hardware business in April, followed in May by the release of its MetaProtect™ Firewall solution which marks its entry into the security space.
The ITT awards, designed to acknowledge excellence in trading technology within capital markets, focus on the community of suppliers of trading operations technology. The winners are determined by end-users in financial institutions through an extensive voting process. The awards ceremony took place in New York on June 12th with Metamako’s CTO and founder Dave Snowdon collecting the award.
Metamako’s winning entry described how flagship client Deutsche Börse Group (DB), Europe’s largest exchange, chose to use its K-Series devices running the MetaWatch application. MetaWatch combines numerous components of a traditional monitoring solution into one single device: tapping, tap aggregation, precise time synchronisation, 1 nanosecond-resolution timestamping and deep buffering to ensure virtually lossless capture. As a result, every single trade at Deutsche Börse is now monitored and timestamped by a Metamako device, enabling DB to offer the most reliable and high-quality service for its trading clients and gaining unprecedented insight into the customer-facing aspect of its network.
Kevin Covington, CEO, commented: “We are thrilled by this news – it reinforces the quality of our network monitoring & timestamping solution as well as its significance. One of our core motivations is to exceed customers’ expectations by solving real business problems with technology that is well-ahead of the curve. All the credit goes to the team as a whole for making this possible with its dedication and innovation; to have our efforts rewarded in this fashion is fantastic.”
Being the network solution of choice for financial firms such as electronic traders, brokers and exchanges, Metamako is now expanding into new verticals, notably network monitoring and telecommunications, along with data centre and security spaces. This expansion has not gone unnoticed, with recent nominations from numerous awards including FinTech Australia’s ‘Finnies’ and the RegTech Awards, organised by A-Team Group.
