Man Group PLC Will Replace Amersham PLC In The S&P European Indices

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P Europe 350 and S&P United Kingdom Indices effective the close of trading Wednesday, April 07, 2004:
  • Man Group PLC (United Kingdom, SEDOL 0294405, GICS: Financials, GICS Code: 40203010) will replace Amersham PLC (United Kingdom, SEDOL 0274753) in the S&P Europe 350 and S&P United Kingdom Indices after the close of trading on Wednesday, April 07, 2004. Amersham PLC is being deleted from the S&P Europe 350 and S&P United Kingdom Indices following the company's acquisition by General Electric Company in an all-share offer.
Man Group PLC operates a financial services company, which specializes in fund management and brokerage services. The number of shares outstanding is 307,541,400 and the Investable Weight Factor will be 1.00. The company, headquartered in London, will be added to the S&P Europe 350 GICS (Global Industry Classification Standard) Asset Management & Custody Banks sub-industry.

The acquisition between General Electric Company and Amersham PLC is subject to the sanction of the Scheme by the High Court. It is expected that completion will occur on 8 April 2004 and Amersham PLC shares to be delisted from London Stock Exchange from close of business April 7, 2004.
