Securities Commission Malaysia’s (SC) InvestSmart® Fest 2017 will be officiated by Yang Berhormat Khairy Jamaluddin, Minister for Youth and Sports at 10.00 am on 13 October 2017 at Hall 5 of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Themed “Invest For Your Future”, this annual three-day event to be held from 13-15 October 2017 will showcase over 65 exhibition booths from capital market institutions, associations, industry players and relevant government agencies under one roof. InvestSmart® Fest is SC’s annual flagship event held to promote financial and investment literacy in order to enhance investor empowerment.
Activities lined up for the 3 day event includes talks and seminars by leading industry experts and complimentary financial planning services -“FinPlan4u”. Visitors can obtain a free financial planning assessment on a first come first serve basis. Those interested can register by emailing their name, IC number and contact details to investsmart@seccom.com.my.
In conjunction with the InvestSmart® Fest 2017, SC had launched an Anti-Scam Video Competition to create awareness on scams. The shortlisted videos are currently hosted on SC’s InvestSmart Facebook page. The entry which receives the most “likes” will be given an additional cash prize. The prize giving ceremony will be held on the evening of 15 October 2017 where renowned actor and comedian Harith Iskander will also make an appearance and share his investment experience with the public.
The InvestSmart® Fest 2017 inaugural charity fun run – “ScamBuster Run” will take place on the morning of 15 October 2017. Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Datin Paduka Setia Zatashah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah will grace the occasion with her presence and participation in the run. The 5km fun run, which is expected to draw participation of approximately 3,000 runners, will be flagged off at 7am around the Kuala Lumpur City Centre from Jalan P. Ramlee. All proceeds will be channelled to the National Kidney Foundation.
InvestSmart® Fest visitors can use the promo code ‘UBER2INVESTSMART to enjoy a discount of RM10 off for two rides, when using Uber to and from the KL Convention Centre from 13 October, 7am until 15 October, 7pm.
