The London Stock Exchange, working in partnership with City Insights, the provider of private client investor relations services, and international law firm Eversheds, will hold a series of Growing Company Investor Days starting this week. The Investor Days will bring the senior management of quoted companies from around the country face-to-face with private client investment managers and regional pension funds. Six events will be held during the year; in Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds, London and Manchester.
Tracey Pierce, Head of Equity Primary Markets at the London Stock Exchange, commented:
“The UK has one of the world's deepest pools of capital and liquidity supported by a diverse range of investors, factors that have played a vital part in the long-term success of the London markets and remain crucial today as equity capital plays an increasingly important role in the financing options available to issuers.
“Building long-term constructive relationships with investors is integral to a successful public quotation. This programme gives quoted companies across the UK additional support in establishing relationships with a wider range of professional investors, including regionally-managed pension funds and the private client investment community, and is part of a range of measures designed to enhance the visibility and liquidity of small and medium sized companies on our markets.”
Chris Munden, Managing Director of City Insights, added:
“Quoted companies of all sizes, from small caps to large multinationals, are increasingly looking to communicate with private client investment managers, not just in London but across the UK. These investors represent a very important part of any quoted company’s share register and, in many cases, can be hugely influential.
“We are delighted that the London Stock Exchange has again selected City Insights to partner them in hosting the 2009 Growing Companies Investor Days and we look forward to introducing a wide range of interesting companies to their local investor communities.”
Hannah Kendrick, corporate partner at Eversheds, added:
“Eversheds is committed to supporting businesses in these testing times and this includes assisting them in establishing and developing positive relationships with investors and exploring all available financing options. We are therefore very pleased to be working with the London Stock Exchange on the 2009 Growing Companies Investor Days.”
The Growing Company Investor Days will provide a valuable opportunity for UK private client investment managers to meet company management face-to-face. The meetings will give smaller and medium cap companies, which may receive less analyst and media coverage, an additional platform to put their investment cases to potential new investors. The schedule for the Investor Days is as follows:
Birmingham - 19 March 2009
Edinburgh - 23 April 2009
London - 18 June 2009
Leeds - 15 October 2009
Manchester - 19 November 2009
London - 1 December 2009
