The London Stock Exchange today announced appointments to two newly created posts: Director of Corporate Communications and Public Policy and Director of Corporate Development.

He will have responsibility for developing the Exchange’s public profile through media relations, government relations, internal communications and its Media Centre and events functions.

Nic Stuchfield will become the Exchange’s Director of Corporate Development, a role that will see him assume responsibility for the Exchange’s business planning, research and development, and corporate strategy, as well as maintaining his position as Managing Director of EDX London.

Following this reorganisation, Clara Furse will have five direct reports: Jonathan Howell, Finance Director; Martin Graham, Director of Market Services; David Lester, Chief Information Officer; Nic Stuchfield, Director of Corporate Development; and Paul Kafka, Director of Corporate Communications and Public Policy.

Commenting on Paul Kafka’s appointment, Clara Furse said: "I am delighted that Paul will be joining the Exchange at this important point in its development. He is a leading professional in his field, with an impressive international track record. Paul has the skills to help the Exchange develop and deliver its public agenda and corporate communications programme in the UK and abroad." On Nic Stuchfield’s new role as Director of Corporate Development, Furse added: "Since joining the Exchange last year, Nic has made a significant contribution to our corporate development. Nic’s new role brings together the development and diversification of the Exchange’s businesses to include his leadership of EDX London, the Exchange’s derivatives business."
