The new Group consists of senior practitioners drawn from across the range of the Exchanges' customers. The Group will be chaired by Hector Sants, Chairman of DLJ International Securities and a member of the London Stock Exchange Board, with Dr Stephan Schuster of Deutsche Bank to act as Deputy Chairman.
The Group's role will be to provide independent customer input to the Board of iX-international Exchanges. It will have broad terms of reference and represents major investment houses, retail and private client brokers, and institutional investors from across Europe. Meetings will take place alternately in London and Frankfurt on a regular basis.
Under the umbrella of the Senior Market Group, further groups will be set up, representing private client brokers, institutional investors and the growth market. Working groups of practitioners and other interested parties - including issuers - will be established to cover specific issues, including primary markets, admission to trading, secondary market trading structures, technology and migration issues, among others.
The initial list of names of the Senior Market Group is attached. A number of further appointments are expected to ensure broad representation.
