Steel billet trading at the LME was up 554 per cent year-on-year for the first two months of 2011, with 42,300 lots traded in January and February 2011, compared with 6,470 lots during the corresponding period last year.
February saw 19,445 lots (1.26 million tonnes) of billet traded.
