Lahore Stock Exchange Limited is set to launch a centralized web portal, Pakistan Unified Corporate Action Reporting System (PUCARS) on Monday, September 09, 2013. In replacement to conventional announcements system where announcements are posted by companies through faxing and mailing letters, with the help of PUCARS, the listed companies will now post their announcements through their online login accounts. Stock Exchange will further disseminate the announcement to brokers, investors and other stakeholders through its Trading System, Website, Email, Social Media and LSE’s local TV channel without causing any time lapse.
Corporate announcements such as corporate action entitlements, announcement of quarterly, half yearly and yearly profit and loss, dividend payments, bonus and right issues, sensitive information in relation to any securities / stocks received from a company shall now be disseminated to the market by an online system in an efficient and timely manner using the electronic interface of PUCAR system.
LSE aims to build fair and transparent trading practices and consider the launch of PUCARS as yet another step in meeting its commitment. It may be mentioned that LSE has assisted in providing software, hardware and network support to the local and remote brokers/traders, investors and the Exchange itself. PUCARS launch would yield effective and efficient dissemination of information by adding value to the environment; subsequently, transforming the cost of stationary into intangible benefits – Time and speed.
