Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For March 2004

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 4,947.6 points at the end of March, a decrease of 272 points from the closing value at the end of February. The weighted index reached 290.1 points at the end of March, a decrease of 15.55 points from the closing value at the end of February.

Volume of trading in March was 2,499,248,000 shares, a decrease of 1.97% over the previous month's volume. The value traded in March was KWD 1,238,735,500 a decrease of 4.29% over the previous month's value. There were 86,844 transactions in March, a decrease of 9.13% over the previous month's number of transactions.

There were 108 listed companies at the end of March. The shares of 110 companies were traded in March. Of the traded companies, 22 increased in price and 86 decreased in price.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at end March was KWD 18,175,279,000.
