The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 10,172 points at the end of September, an increase of 170.9 points from the closing value at the end of the second quarter. The weighted index reached 522.83 points at the end of September, an increase of 15.64 points compared to the second quarter.
Volume of trading in the third quarter was 7,002,459,000 shares, a decrease of 34% over the previous quarter's volume. The value traded in the third quarter was KWD 2,940,396,750 a decrease of 35% over the previous quarter's value. There were 293,567 transactions in the third quarter, a decrease of 33% over the previous quarter's number of transactions.
172 companies were traded in the third quarter. Of the traded companies, 36 increased in price and 136 decreased in price.
The market capitalisation of the exchange was 29,623,323,000.
