KRX To Provide English Conversion Service Of Timely Disclosure Of Listed Companies

The Korea Exchange (“KRX”) provides English conversion service of timely disclosure of listed companies from September 13 to enhance foreign investors’ accessibility to investment information.

Under KOSPI and KOSDAQ Market Disclosure Regulation, listed companies must file timely disclosure in Korean and they can publish the same disclosure in English by the following day on a voluntary basis. However, listed companies have been reluctant in providing disclosure in English due to lack of understanding on the scheme, costs of translation and fear on possible mistranslation of the disclosure information.

To avoid possible misinterpretation of the disclosure, KRX converts the title of disclosure and labels in the disclosure form in English when listed companies make the filing. The English disclosure is available on the KRX KIND system (http://engkind.krx.co.kr). (KRX)
