Korea Exchange: Analysis Of Single Stock Futures Market For KOSDAQ-listed Stocks One Week After Market Opening

Korea Exchange (KRX) has analyzed the trading activity of single stock futures market for KOSDAQ-listed stocks* for the 1st week after its listing (from August 3 to August 7, 2015.) 
 

* Single stock futures were introduced as a risk management instrument of KOSDAQ Market. 10 representative stocks of KOSDAQ like Celltrion and Daumkakao are used as underlying assets of this product. 

KRX analyzed that this market has successfully secured the liquidity at early stage. Three issues including Daumkakao marked over 1,000 in daily trading volume. Also, various investors such as financial investment companies and collective investment business entities are participating in the market. The high number of open interest (19,217 contracts as of August 7) shows that investors have utilized this market for risk management.
