Kinetic Partners and Eukleia Training have launched a new online transaction reporting (TR) module. The course has been devised in response to FCA’s on-going enforcement activity and its recent remarks on weaknesses in industry training on this topic.
Patrick Thompson, CEO of Eukleia CEO said:
“We have developed this course to help firms address their training needs in this complex and technical area. Firms can purchase the product off-the-shelf, but it is also designed so that they may easily customise it to suit their own specific needs.”
This 20 minute course provides an introduction to the topic of transaction reporting and its role in safeguarding market integrity It explains the consequences of non-compliance and the types of transaction and data that need to be reported. The course focuses on current FCA requirements, but also covers the role of the European Securities Markets Authority (ESMA) and the forthcoming changes contained in MiFID 2.
Monique Melis, Global Head of Consulting at Kinetic Partners said:
“Detection and surveillance of market abuse is critical for the FCA and other competent authorities. The level of the recent fine for transaction reporting failures demonstrates that the FCA considers compliance in this area of regulation of utmost importance.
The focus on training and the importance of getting transaction reporting right runs though the firm, for both front and back offices. Participants in this training course will understand the core components leading to robust transaction reporting systems and processes. They will also be given guidance on implementing clear roles and responsibilities, documentation, data integrity testing and static data to FCA standards.
Such training is best delivered through a combination of setting the tone from the top and enforcing it with on-line modules, which is standard practice for AML and CASS compliance. This is the first time a similar approach has been taken for transaction reporting on a broader scale and we are proud to be part of creating this training solution.”
