In November 2007, total turnover on SWX, virt-x and Scoach Switzerland Ltd. amounted to CHF 244 billion, which represents a 16.3 % increase versus the previous month and a 51 % gain compared to November of 2006. In terms of the total number of trades, a new record was set: 4,008,079. The stock indices were generally on the downswing for the month, with the blue chip SMI® closing out November at 8,828.4. That corresponds to a 2.12 % decline from the level recorded at the end of October 2007, whereby the index is still up 0.49 % for the year to date. The broad-based SPI® has gained 3.25 % since the beginning of the year and ended the month of November at 7,154.7 points.
