The Kansas City Board of Trade (KCBT) and KCBT Clearing Corporation (KCC) will be participating in the FIA's Industry-Wide Disaster Recovery Test on Saturday, October 27, 2007. As such, we strongly encourage each of our member firms to participate in this test.
There are two components to the KCBT test: one component is transmission of trades from e-cbot to KCBT Clearing; the second component is entry of scripted open outcry trades. During this test, the KCBT Clearing Corporation will be operating from the KCBT Remote Data Center (KRDC). KCC staff will provide the open-outcry scripts to local clearing representatives in the week leading up to the test for entry on the test day.
Clearing Members
The KRDC will be available for the firms to test from their primary and/or backup sites. In preparation for this important test, please be certain you are familiar with and have tested your ability to connect to KRDC. All firms should have previously performed this test in last year's exercise or at the time of your setup as a KCC Clearing Member. If you have any questions on connecting to KRDC, please contact the KCBT Clearing Corporation.
The FIA test is open to all members of the exchanges regardless of membership in the FIA.
FIA pre-test briefings
There will be two pre-test briefings held at the following times and locations:
• Tuesday, September 18, 10:00 a.m. - Noon, Chicago Mercantile Exchange
• Wednesday, September 20, 10:00 a.m. - Noon, New York Mercantile Exchange
For more information or to register please go to: Preliminary Testing Briefings
There will be more details forthcoming in the next few weeks and at the FIA briefings, but at this time, we encourage each of you to work within your organization to ensure that: (1) the appropriate people are aware that the KCBT is participating and included in the planning process and; (2) that your firm has registered to participate Disaster Test Recovery Registration. We have contact information for firms that have already registered with the FIA as participating. If you need assistance determining who to contact within your organization, please let us know.
