KCBT Sets New July Volume Records - KCBT Record Sets New Exchange, Wheat Monthly Volume Records

The Kansas City Board of Trade set new volume records for the calendar month of July in the hard red winter wheat futures contract and for the exchange as a whole.

Total exchange volume of 426,770 contracts topped the previous July monthly volume record of 419,977 set just last year by 1.6 percent.

Hard red winter wheat futures set a new record for the month of July as 407,032 contracts were traded, breaking the previous July record of 377,494 set just last year by 7.8 percent.

Open interest in hard red winter wheat futures was 151,080 at months end, an 18.5 percent increase compared to last month. Wheat options open interest increased 33.7 percent in the past month.
