The Kansas City Board of Trade trading volume for the month of October totaled 279,507 contracts for the exchange as a whole. Hard red winter wheat futures volume amounted to 266,231 contracts.
Hard red winter wheat options volume posted an increase of 45.5 percent compared to last month, from 9,123 contracts to 13,276 contracts. Open interest also increased over the past month for that contract, by 19.3 percent, from 15,830 contracts to 18,889 contracts.
