Kansas City Board Of Trade Announces Officers, Directors For 2011 - Michael P. Simmons Elected Chairman

The Kansas City Board of Trade announces 2011 officers and directors, who took office at a regular board meeting held yesterday. Members of the Kansas City Board of Trade elected Michael P. Simmons, an individual member, as chairman in an election held earlier this month. Simmons served as first vice chairman of the KCBT in 2010 and as second vice chairman in 2009. The first vice chairman traditionally has assumed the chairmanship of the KCBT in the following year.

Simmons became a member in 1995 and purchased his own membership in 1996. He served one term as an exchange director, from 2001 to 2002, also serving as treasurer the first year of his term. He served as assistant treasurer in 2004. He served as a director of the BOT Investment Co. in 2007. He also served the KCBT Clearing Corp. in 2007 as the secretary/treasurer. He succeeds Richard L. Mandl as chairman of the exchange.

Steven K. Campbell, Vice President & Director North America Wheat Trading, Louis Dreyfus Commodities, has automatically advanced from the post of second vice chairman in 2010 to first vice chairman in 2011. Campbell first became a KCBT member in 1992. He remained a member until 1994 and again became a member in 2006. He served as an exchange director from 2007 to 2008.

James S. Bosley, Jr. has been elected as second vice chairman. Bosley is a 35-year veteran of the grain industry. Bosley first became a KCBT member in 1985 and purchased his own membership in 1995. He served two terms as an exchange director, from 1997 to 1998 and from 2007 to 2008. He also served the KCBT Clearing Corp. in 2010 as the president and a director.

The exchange also elected the following members to two-year terms on the board of directors: R. Morgan Shay III, Shay Grain Company, and Richard W. Tinberg, individual member.

They join the following directors serving the second year of two-year terms: John M. Legg, individual member and David W. Gibson, Penson Futures.
