The Securities Industry Association today announced the appointment of John Anderson as vice president and director, legislative affairs. Anderson, 29, comes to SIA from the International Swaps and Derivatives Association where he served as policy director and head of government affairs. “We are excited that John Anderson has joined SIA. John brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience,” SIA President Marc E. Lackritz said. “He knows the issues and he knows how the Hill works. John will play an important role in our Senate lobbying efforts.”

“John’s extensive experience on the Hill will help us to better serve the interests of our member-firms in working with the Senate to enact pro-market, pro-investor legislation,” said Richard Hunt, senior vice president, federal policy.

Anderson received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and earned his master’s degree in international commerce and policy from George Mason University in Virginia.
