Japan Exchange Group released Trading Overview in September 2015 and First Half of Fiscal Year 2015 (April to September).
Cash Equity Market
- In the first half of FY2015, total trading value of TSE 1st Section domestic stocks (excluding preferred shares) was JPY 365.3788 trillion, the second-highest on a half-yearly basis.
- In the ETF market, total trading value was JPY 33.8 trillion, a record high on a half-yearly basis.
- In September 2015, the daily average trading value for the TSE 1st Section reached JPY 2.8777 trillion.
- In the ETF market, monthly trading value was JPY 7.1110 trillion, exceeding JPY 7 trillion for the second consecutive months. Daily average trading value for the ETF market was JPY 374.3 billion, an all-time high.
- In the REIT market, monthly trading value was JPY 919.3 billion, a high since March 2015.
Derivatives Market
- In the first half of FY2015, total derivatives trading volume was 195,552,681 contracts, the second-highest on a half-yearly basis. Total trading volume of Nikkei 225 mini reached an all-time high and of TOPIX futures, the third-highest on record.
- Total derivatives trading value was JPY 1,395 trillion, the second-highest on a half-yearly basis. Total trading value for equity index derivatives reached JPY 746 trillion, a record high on a half-yearly basis.
- In September 2015, monthly trading volume for the night session was 11,786,992 contracts, and the ratio of night session was 31.8%.
- For JPX-Nikkei 400 futures, monthly trading volume was 1,413,184 contracts, an all-time high.
- For TOPIX futures, monthly trading volume was 3,093,131 contracts, the third-highest on record.
- For TSE REIT Index futures, monthly trading volume was 30,648 contracts, a record high, and the trading volume for the first half of FY2015 reached 92,589 contracts, a record high on a half-yearly basis.
