Japan Exchange Group released Trading Overview in Year 2015 & December 2015.

Cash Equity Market

- In 2015, annual trading volume for the TSE 1st Section domestic stocks (excluding preferred stocks) was 619.8604 billion shares, and annual trading value was JPY 696.3363 trillion, both the second-highest on record.
- For domestic ETFs, annual trading volume was 8.00 billion units (ADV: 32.82 million units), and annual trading value was JPY 61.0 trillion (ADV: JPY 250.2 billion), both an all-time high.
- In the REIT market, annual trading volume was 46.55 million units (ADV: 190,000 units), and annual trading value was JPY 10.0 trillion (daily average: JPY 41.1 billion), both an all-time high.
- The trading volume for foreign ETFs and ETNs was 344.75 million units (ADV: 1.41 million units), and the trading value was JPY 852.0 billion (ADV: JPY 3.5 billion). Both of these figures represent record highs attributable primarily to the increase in trading volume of ETNs that track crude oil indices.

Derivatives Market

- In 2015, the total trading volume of derivatives was 361,457,534 contracts, nearing 2013’s record high.
- Annual trading value for equity index derivatives reached JPY 1,373 trillion, an all-time high.
- Annual trading volume for the night session was 126,059,486 contracts, and the ratio of the night session was 34.9%, both an all-time high.
- Annual trading volume for Nikkei 225 mini was 247,159,359 contracts, an all-time high.
- Annual trading volume for TOPIX futures was 22,303,956 contracts, the second-highest on record.
- Annual trading volumes for DJIA futures, India Nifty50 Futures, Nikkei 225 VI futures, TSE REIT Index futures, and mini-10year JGB Futures reached all-time highs.
- In December 2015, trading volume for the night session was 12,663,494 contracts, and the ratio of the night session was 39.0%, an all-time high.

The cash equity market is operated by TSE, while the derivatives market is operated by OSE.
