ISITC Europe, the industry group dedicated to improving the operational efficiency of the global financial industry, has today announced that it will be focussing on reference data at its summer summit in London. The event will be held at the offices of Brown Brothers Harriman Investor Services on 13th June.
CEO, Graeme Austin, will open the conference, which brings together industry movers and shakers including Ken Price (VP of Sales, Strevus, formerly CEO AVOX/DTCC) as keynote speaker. Also joining the conference is Anthony Coates (Information Architect, Group CTO, UBS), Paul Kennedy (Director of Data Science, Platts McGraw Hill Financial), Colin Gibson (Head of Data Architecture, RBS Markets & International Banking) and Mike Bennett (Head of Semantics and Standards, EDM Council). The event will see discussion on how far the industry has come and how far it still has to go in developing prudent reference data management.
Austin commented: “Echoing calls for better regulation both inside and outside the industry, we hope to emphasise the importance of making quality reference data a norm, not a luxury. The financial services industry has routinely expressed the need to avoid uncertainty and slow implementation to efficiently monitor systematic risk for better trading.
