ISE Announces Three New Board Members

The International Securities Exchange (ISE) today announced the addition of three new members to its Board of Directors, and also announced six members were re-elected.

ISE's Board of Directors consists of both industry and non-industry directors. Of the industry directors, each ISE exchange membership type is represented by two directors on the Board who serve two year terms. Patrick Hickey of Optiver US was elected to the Board as a director representing ISE's Competitive Market Makers (CMMs).  Elizabeth Martin of Goldman Sachs & Co. was elected to represent ISE's Electronic Access Members (EAMs).  Slade Winchester of Citigroup, who previously represented ISE's EAMs and CMMs on the Board, was elected to serve as director on behalf of ISE's Primary Market Makers (PMMs). In addition to these elections, Denis Medvedsek of Knight Capital Group was appointed as CMM Director to fill a vacancy.

Mr. Hickey is the Head of Market Structure for Optiver US. In this capacity, he acts as the primary liaison between the firm and all industry contacts, representing the firm to exchanges, vendors, and industry groups. Previously, Mr. Hickey has been a senior equity options trader for the Automated Market Making groups at Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, focusing on US Equity options, as well as serving with proprietary market making groups on the Pacific Exchange and CBOE, where he began his career with O'Connor and Associates. He is a member of the NYSE Arca Options Ethics and Business Conduct Committee and holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from UCLA.

Ms. Martin is a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs & Co. and the Head of Global Equities Management. Prior to her current position, Ms. Martin was as an equity derivatives trader for Goldman Sachs specializing in corporate derivatives and the technology sector. She currently serves on the SIFMA Listed Options Trading Committee. She earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and is a CFA charterholder.

Mr. Medvedsek is a Managing Director at Knight Capital Group, responsible for the electronic Options Market Making business. Previously, Mr. Medvedsek served as Director of Automated Market Making and Head of AES Options Algorithmic Trading at Credit Suisse. Mr. Medvedsek has also held various trading roles within equity derivatives and emerging markets derivatives at JP Morgan. Mr. Medvedsek holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Harvard University.

In addition, Michael Monaco, Hauke Stars, Joseph Stefanelli, and Kenneth Vecchione were re-elected to serve one-year terms as Non-Industry Directors.
