The value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book on the Main Market was PLN 12.5 billion in May 2016, representing a decrease of 27.4% year on year. The number of transactions was 1.4 million in May 2016, an increase of 13.0% year on year. The average daily value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book was PLN 624.6 million on the Main Market and PLN 4.4 million on NewConnect in May 2016. The WIG index reached 45,844.15 points at the end of May 2016, a decrease of 17.4% year on year.
The volume of trade in index futures was 312.9 thousand contracts in May 2016, representing an increase of 21.5% year on year. The volume of trade in single-stock futures increased by 34.6% year on year to 103.9 thousand contracts in May 2016.
The value of bond issues listed on Catalyst was PLN 74.1 billion at the end of May 2016, representing an increase of 10.5% year on year. The total value of trade on Catalyst increased by 37.7% year on year to PLN 223.1 million in May 2016.
The total volume of spot and forward transactions in electricity was 10.1 TWh in May 2016 compared to 13.9 TWh in May 2015. The total volume of spot and forward transactions in natural gas was 8.9 TWh in May 2016 compared to 5.6 TWh in May 2015.
The volume of trade in property rights was 6.2 TWh in May 2016, representing a decrease of 15.6% year on year.
The capitalisation of 434 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 496.9 billion (EUR 113.4 billion) at the end of May 2016. The total capitalisation of 487 domestic and foreign companies listed on the GPW Main Market was PLN 971.8 billion (EUR 221.8 billion) at the end of May 2016.
The companies X-Trade Brokers DM SA (IPO of PLN 189 million), Gekoplast (transferred from NC without an offering), i2Development SA (public subscription of PLN 34 million), AIRWAY MEDIX (transferred from NC without an offering) were newly listed on the GPW Main Market in May 2016
The companies Voicetel Communications SA (IPO of PLN 320 thousand) and E-Solution Software SA (IPO of PLN 600 thousand) were newly listed on NewConnect in May 2016. The companies PKO Bank Hipoteczny SA (mortgage bond issue of PLN 500 million) and SAPPEERS.COM (private placement of PLN 201 thousand, buy/sell transactions of PLN 2.25 million) were newly listed on Catalyst in May 2016.
