The total value of trade in equities on the Main Market was PLN 21.1 billion in July 2016, representing an increase of 9.3 percent year on year. The number of transactions was 1.3 million in July 2016, an increase of 0.9 percent year on year. The average daily value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book was PLN 805.1 million on the Main Market and PLN 3.1 million on NewConnect in July 2016. The WIG index reached 46,171.72 points at the end of July 2016, a decrease of 12.5 percent year on year.
The volume of trade in index futures was 297.3 thousand contracts in July 2016, representing a decrease of 16.9 percent year on year. The volume of trade in single-stock futures increased by 36.1 percent year on year to 117.4 thousand contracts in July 2016.
The value of bond issues listed on Catalyst was PLN 78.9 billion at the end of July 2016, representing an increase of 14.5 percent year on year. The total value of trade on Catalyst decreased by 13 percent year on year to PLN 179.9 million in July 2016.
The total volume of spot and forward transactions in electricity was 8.4 TWh in July 2016 compared to 13.2 TWh in July 2015. The total volume of spot and forward transactions in natural gas was 4.6 TWh in July 2016 compared to 15.9 TWh in July 2015.
The volume of trade in property rights was 3 TWh in July 2016, representing a decrease of 24.3 percent year on year.
The capitalisation of 430 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 508.5 billion at the end of July 2016. The total capitalisation of 483 domestic and foreign companies listed on the GPW Main Market was PLN 959.4 billion at the end of July 2016.
The companies Tower Investments with an offering of more than PLN 10 million and JWA (no offering) were newly listed on the NewConnect in July 2016.
Bonds of the company ORLEN CAPITAL AB (PUBL) at a record-high value of EUR 750,000,000 were newly listed on Catalyst.
