The value of trade on the Electronic Order Book[1] in equities on the Main Market was PLN 17.7 billion in August 2015, an increase of 9.8% year on year. The average daily value of trade in August 2015 was PLN 841.7 million (an increase of 4.5% year on year) while the average daily number of transactions increased by 38.8% to 71.9 thousand. The value of trade in equities on the Main Market was PLN 137.3 billion in January-August 2015, representing a moderate decrease year on year (-0.7%).
The total value of trading on NewConnect stood at PLN 131.1 million in August 2015, an increase of 63.7% year on year. The value of trade on the Electronic Order Book in equities on NewConnect increased by 68.0% year on year to PLN 128.9 million in August 2015.
The volume of trading in index futures was 379.4 thousand contracts in August 2015 compared to 329.4 thousand contracts in August 2014, representing an increase of 15.2% year on year. The volume of trading in other futures (single-stock, currency, interest rate futures) was 219.2 thousand contracts in August 2015, an increase of 14.5% year on year. The volume of trade in options increased modestly by 0.5% year on year to 40.7 thousand.
The value of bond issues listed on Catalyst was PLN 70.4 billion at the end of August 2015, an increase of 4.2% year on year. The total value of trade on Catalyst was PLN 156.6 million in August 2015, representing a decrease of 27.9% year on year.
The total value of transactions on TBSP decreased by 38.9% year on year to PLN 39.9 billion in August 2015.
The volume of forward transactions in electricity was 9.6 TWh in August 2015, representing an increase of 6.0% year on year. The volume of spot transactions decreased by 3.8% year on year to 1.7 TWh in August 2015. The total volume of trade in electricity was 114.1 TWh in January-August 2015 and was stable year on year.
The volume of trading in property rights to certificates of origin increased by 58.5% year on year to 3.2 TWh in August 2015.
The total volume of spot and forward trading in gas stood at 79.5 TWh in August 2015, an increase of 98.6% year on year.
The capitalisation of 424 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 577.3 billion (EUR 136.3 billion) at the end of August 2015.
The total capitalisation of 476 domestic and foreign companies listed on the GPW Main Market was PLN 1,220.8 billion (EUR 288.3 billion) at the end of August 2015.
The companies Jujubee SA with an offering of PLN 1,743 thousand, Geotrans SA with an offering of PLN 1,200 thousand, and Present24 without an offering were newly listed on NewConnect in August 2015.
The bond issues of Grupa Duon SA (PLN 30 million), Cyfrowy Polsat (PLN 1 billion), Everest Capital sp. z o.o (PLN 30 million), Salwirak SA (PLN 5 million), and Benefit Systems SA (PLN 50 million) were newly listed on Catalyst in August 2015.
GPW held 21 trading sessions in August 2015, one more than in August 2014.
