The total value of trade in equities on the Main Market was PLN 15.6 billion in August 2016, representing a decrease of 15.4 percent year on year. The value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book decreased by 12.8 percent year on year to PLN 15.4 billion. The value of trade in equities on NewConnect also decreased year on year. The total value of trade was PLN 105.8 million in August 2016, a decrease of 19.3 percent year on year.
The volume of trade in index futures was 277.0 thousand contracts in August 2016, representing a decrease of 27.0 percent year on year. At the same time, the volume of trade in single-stock futures increased by 32.5 percent year on year to a historically high 128.0 thousand contracts.
The value of non-Treasury bond issues listed on Catalyst was PLN 79.0 billion at the end of August 2016, representing an increase of 12.1 percent year on year. The total value of trade on Catalyst increased by 48.7 percent year on year to PLN 232.8 million.
The total volume of spot and forward transactions in electricity was 9.4 TWh in August 2016, representing a decrease of 16.3 percent year on year. The total volume of spot and forward transactions in natural gas was 7.6 TWh in August 2016, representing a decrease of 2.6 percent year on year.
The volume of trade in property rights was 2.9 TWh in August 2016, representing a decrease of 10.1 percent year on year.
The capitalisation of 429 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 526.0 billion at the end of August 2016. The total capitalisation of 482 domestic and foreign companies listed on the GPW Main Market was PLN 991.3 billion at the end of August 2016.
The companies Mediacap and PGS Software were newly listed on the Main Market in August 2016. Both companies transferred from NewConnect.
GPW held 22 trading sessions in August 2016, 1 more than in August 2015.
