IntercontinentalExchange Exchange-wide Open Interest Hits New High July 30

IntercontinentalExchange (NYSE: ICE), the leading electronic energy marketplace, announced that ICE Futures, its regulated futures subsidiary, set a new daily volume record in the benchmark ICE Brent Crude futures contract. On July 31, volume in ICE Brent Crude futures reached 241,114 contracts, surpassing the March 9, 2006 record of 232,995 contracts by 3.5%. On July 31, open interest stood at a record 488,736 contracts.

ICE Futures also announced that exchange-wide open interest reached a record on July 30 of 1,115,409 contracts, an increase of 72.0% compared to 648,585 contracts at December 31, 2005.
