Interactive Financial eXchange (IFX) Forum President Presents At Sibos Event In Boston, October 3 And 4

Date 04/10/2007

The Interactive Financial eXchange (IFX) Forum (www.ifxforum.org ) today announced that the group's president, Richard P. Urban, will deliver two presentations on the IFX specification and its use by the financial services industry worldwide. The sessions, part of the Sibos Standards Forum (http://www.swift.com/index.cfm?item_id=61403), take place at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, October 3 and at 1 PM on Thursday, October 4.

The IFX Forum is an international not-for-profit industry association whose mission is to develop IFX and promote its adoption as an open, interoperable standard for financial data exchange among all sectors of the financial services industry. The IFX specification is becoming a global standard for financial messages, as the Forum’s wide-ranging membership indicates.

The sessions will present a synopsis of the standard IFX architecture and highlight its interoperability with various corporate and international standards. IFX Forum has a long-standing commitment to interoperability in the standards community, exemplified its status as a founding member of the IST Harmonization effort (ISTH), which resulted in the ISO 20022 payments messages. IFX was the first standard to implement those messages, and IFX continues to host ISTH and participate in TC68 to extend that support. IFX also has formal Memoranda of Understanding with EACT (European Association of Corporate Treasurers) in connection with its CAST effort, with ACORD in the insurance industry and with X12F in the U.S. financial standards arena.
