A high-ranking delegation from the Embassy of India in Tehran paid a visit to Tehran Securities Exchange (TSE) on Tuesday, 26 September 2023.
Mr. Rudra Gaurav Shresth, the Ambassador of India to Islamic Republic of Iran, accompanied by the Embassy’s Second Secretary and the Economic and Commercial Counsellor paid a visit to Tehran Securities Exchange (TSE) and had a session with TSE’s CEO, Mr. Goudarzi, and other officials of the company.
In the meeting, exchanging some information on the latest status of the both countries’ economic indicators and current relations, both parties expressed hope for a more suitable political environment to make the best use of existing investment potentials in the two countries and converting them into development opportunities.
After obtaining detailed introduction and data about the capital market of and the operations of Tehran Securities Exchange, the Indian delegation announced that there have been recent developments regarding the India’s large investments in Iran's infrastructure. Accordingly, it is expected that in the near future those Indians who wish to invest in Iran will find various opportunities to participate in the Iran's capital market; Therefore, it is necessary to deepen existing relations and increase familiarity with investment laws and regulations in Iran.
Referring to the background of TSE's relations with India's capital market, as well as the role and positions of the Indian major stock exchanges in the global markets, Mr. Goudarzi emphasized on the establishment of the necessary groundwork to facilitate communication between the stock exchanges of the two countries and paving the way for cooperation in fields of education, finance and technology through the assistance of the Indian Embassy in Tehran.
