IntercontinentalExchange is reported to be in talks to buy NYSE Euronext. A deal could be announced as early as today.
ICE has proposed to pay USD33.00 a share for NYSE Euronext. This price is 37% above Wednesday's close. ICE is, sources say, proposing a deal with one third in cash and the other two thirds with stock.
At the close of trading on Wednesday, NYSE Euronext was worth about USD5.8 billion.
