Honorary CISI Fellowships For Hector Sants And Angela Knight CBE

FSA CEO Hector Sants and Angela Knight CBE, Chief Executive of the British Bankers’ Association (BBA), have each been awarded Honorary Fellowship of the CISI.

Honorary Fellowship, which carries the designatory letters FCSI(Hon), is awarded by the Institute Board to those who have contributed with distinction to financial services and the CISI. The Institute now has 45 Honorary Fellows.

Hector Sants was appointed FSA Chief Executive in 2007, having joined the regulator in 2004 as Managing Director of Wholesale and Institutional Markets. Previously CEO of Europe, Middle East and Africa at Credit Suisse First Boston, he had before then, held a number of senior roles at both DLJ and UBS.

Angela Knight joined the BBA, the leading trade association for the UK banking and financial services sector, in 2007. She was Chief Executive of the Association of Private Client Investment Managers and Stockbrokers from 1997 to 2006 and an MP between 1992 and1997, including time as Economic Secretary to the Treasury.

CISI Chairman Alan Yarrow, Chartered FCSI(Hon) said: “These are two very able people who have made an exceptional personal contribution to the City and our industry and we are very pleased that they have accepted Honorary Fellowship.”

Angela Knight said: “I am honoured to receive and accept this CISI Fellowship, particularly as I am a firm supporter of the CISI’s core values of integrity, professionalism and excellence.”

Hector Sants said: “I am delighted to accept this CISI Fellowship. The values it represents are integral to the foundation and development of the industry and its practitioners.”
