The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) is pleased to announce that Mr Tim Lui Tim-leung, Chairman of the SFC, has been appointed as a member of the Nominations Committee (Note 1).
The SFC also announces that Mr Edward Cheng Wai-sun, a Non-Executive Director of the SFC, has been appointed as a member of the Takeovers and Mergers Panel and Takeovers Appeal Committee (Note 2).

Notes:
- The primary role of the Nominations Committee is to nominate members of the Takeovers and Mergers Panel, the Takeovers Appeal Committee and the Disciplinary Chair Committee.
- The functions of the Takeovers and Mergers Panel include hearing disciplinary matters, reviewing rulings by the Takeovers Executive at the request of any party dissatisfied with its ruling and considering novel, important or difficult cases referred to it by the Takeovers Executive. The Takeovers Appeal Committee reviews disciplinary rulings of the Takeovers and Mergers Panel to determine whether any sanction imposed by it is unfair or excessive.
