Hong Kong Mercantile Exchange Appoints Chief Financial Officer

The Hong Kong Mercantile Exchange ("HKMEx"), established to bridge the international commodities markets to China, today announces the appointment of Jacky T.Y. Choi as Chief Financial Officer.

"We are very pleased to have Jacky join as a key member of our executive team. His strong track record of achievement and experience in a wide range of organisations will be instrumental in moving the Exchange forward during this exciting time in the company’s history," said HKMEx Chairman Barry Cheung.

Jacky will oversee finance-related functions of the Exchange.

Jacky is a Certified Public Accountant who possesses extensive banking, finance and accounting experience. He filled a number of important roles for AIG in more than 10 years of service, covering both operational management and regional management responsibilities. Prior to joining HKMEx, he served the consumer banking and credit card businesses of AIG in Hong Kong as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and later as Deputy President and Chief Financial Officer in Thailand. During his tenure, Jacky was responsible for managing the finance and treasury activities, leading successful drives to boost efficiency.

Jacky began his career with Arthur Andersen & Co and gained valuable audit experience with a diverse industry exposure. He later joined Guoco Group Limited responsible for the group finance activities.

Jacky is a Practising Certified Public Accountant of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration with First Class Honor from Hong Kong Baptist University.
