Securities market capitalisation, turnover and IPO equity capital raised
Today’s day-end market capitalisation was $20,771,416,680,783.
Today’s Stock Exchange turnover value was $136.39 billion, the second largest this year (see table 1 below).
With the listing of AIA today, the IPO equity capital raised so far this year (January - October) has reached $345.9 billion, overtaking the past record of IPO equity capital raised in 2006 of $333.2 billion.
AIA (stock code: 1299) IPO
AIA’s initial public offering, or IPO, was Hong Kong’s largest ever, raising more than $138 billion (see table 2 below).
AIA’s market capitalisation after the first day of trading in its shares today stood at $277.61 billion, the 11th largest on the Stock Exchange (see table 3 below).
Trading of AIA shares, DWs and stock options
Today’s AIA turnover value, $49.39 billion, was the largest ever for a single listed company on its first trading day (see table 4 below).
Turnover value of derivative warrants (DWs) on AIA shares today was $3.19 billion, accounting for 19.5 per cent of the total derivative warrant trading turnover.
Turnover of AIA stock options today was 7,839 contracts.
There were 135,538 trades in AIA shares today, accounting for about 12.5 per cent of all trades (1,083,911) on the Stock Exchange.
