Hellenic Exchanges publishes its Monthly Statistics Bulletin for October 2010.
Summary of facts for October 2010:
- Total turnover €2.6 billion (increased by 8% compared with September 2010 but decreased by
59% compared with October 2009)
- Total ATHEX capitalization closed at €59.4 billion, increased by 6.3% since September 2010 but
decreased by 40.5% since October 2009.
- Participation of foreign investors in total market capitalization reached 48.6% (from 49.8 % since
the previous month).
- Foreign investors in October 2010 made 51.9% of total turnover.
- Net capital inflow from foreign investors valued of €118.7 million.
- Net capital outflow from Greek retail investors valued of €52.5 million.
- Net capital outflow from Greek institutional investors valued of €50.2 million.
- The number of Active investors’ Shares reached 64. thousand (previous month: 68.8 thousand)
- 3,697 New investors’ Shares (previous month: 3,460 Shares)
- Gains in the price of ATHEX Composite Share Price Index by 5.19% since the beginning of the month.
Transactions Value in October 2010 reached €2,589.5 million (see Chart 1) increased by 8% since September 2010 when transactions value was €2,406.4 million. Compared with October 2009 when transactions value was €6,286.9 million there was a decrease of 59%.
